Whiston & St Helens Hospitals
Mr Mannings NHS duties are carried out at Whiston and St Helens hospitals
which form part of St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust. Any queries about NHS work
should be addressed to Mr Mannings secretary at Whiston hospital (Tel. 0151 426
1600). Generally referrals for NHS work will only be accepted through your
general practitioner.
St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust serves a population of some 350,000 and most
major specialist services are available on-site. It also boasts a nationally
renowned intensive care unit and the hospital is presently undergoing extensive
rebuilding to further enhance the facilities available.

Fairfield Independent Hospital

Fairfield Independent Hospital is set at the foot of Crank Hill and is
surrounded by gardens, woodland and fields. It is easily accessible, being 1
mile away from the East Lancs road (A580) on the west side of St Helens. The
outpatients department is modern, comfortable and provides excellent facilities
for consultation and investigation including radiology, MRI and CT scanning, and
detailed pre-operative assessment. Much of the upper storey is devoted to
inpatient facilities with 43 en-suite rooms, mother and child rooms and two
operating theatres, one of which has full clean air body exhaust facilities for
undertaking total joint replacement. >
